Incredible Opportunity Program

Incredible Opportunity ProgramThe Incredible Opportunity Program began in 2010; students can apply and are selected through an essay contest to receive low cost group violin instruction and orchestral experience.

Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra, a not-for-profit organization, sponsors 20 students, 9 – 13 years old, who would like to learn to play the violin, viola, or cello.

Requirements to be considered for the Incredible Opportunity Program:

  1. Student must want to play the violin, viola, or cello.
  2. Student must be able to attend 30 minute group and 30
    minute orchestra lessons from mid September through April.
  3. Student must submit via Email/Mail a one page essay:
    “Why I would like to play the violin, viola, or cello.“
    by the deadline. Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra P.O. Box 662 ~ Flossmoor, IL
  4. Student must be 9 to 13 years old

If your essay is selected, here are the details:

Meet:      Weekly one hour sessions from mid September through April.

First Rehearsal will be listed on the calendar.

Time:      Sundays, 3:00-4:00PM  (30 min. of group  instruction, 30 min. of orchestra)

Cost$35/month includes weekly group
instruction. A rental violin will be provided if needed at no additional cost. $15.00 for book and shoulder pad.
