Incredible Opportunity Program

Incredible Opportunity ProgramThe Incredible Opportunity Program began in 2010; students can apply and are selected through an essay contest to receive low cost group violin instruction and orchestral experience.

Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra, a not-for-profit organization, sponsors 20 students, 8 – 13 years old, who would like to learn to play the violin, viola, or cello.

Requirements to be considered for the Incredible Opportunity Program:

  1. Student must want to play the violin, viola, or cello.
  2. Student must be able to attend 60 minute group lessons on Sundays from mid August 2017 through April 2018.
  3. Student must submit via Email/Mail a one page essay:
    “Why I would like to play the violin, viola, or cello.“

  4. Student must be 8 to 13 years old

If your essay is selected, here are the details:

Meet:      Weekly one hour sessions from August through May.    First Rehearsal will be listed on the calendar.

Time:      Sundays, 3:00-4:00PM

Cost$35/month includes weekly group instruction. A rental violin will be provided if needed at no additional cost. $15.00 for book and shoulder pad.
