Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra

Training young orchestra musicians in the Chicago Southland since 1962.

For more than thirty-five years, SYSO has brought meaningful, quality musical experiences to its members. The Incredible Opportunity Program began in 2010; students can apply and are selected through an essay contest to receive low cost group violin instruction and orchestral experience.

The Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra is the top performing group and namesake of our organization. Students who are accepted into the Symphony Orchestra group have successfully completed a comprehensive audition and show a great deal of aptitude on their instrument. This ensemble adds woodwinds, brass, and percussion to give students a richer performance opportunity. For any student interested in joining our symphony orchestra, please visit our audition page to schedule your slot today.

Children ages 8 through 17 who already play a string instrument and can read music well play for the Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra.  Selection for this group is by invited audition only.   Audition Requirements
