Spring Concert Jazz
Where: Faith United Methodist Church 15101 S 80th Ave, Orland Park, IL 60462
Cost: $10 adult / $5 student paid at the door on day of concert
Notable musical standards that will be performed include: Chicago, It Don’t Mean A Thing if it Ain’t Got that Swing, Take Five, the Pink Panther, as well as some original Jazz compositions featuring both our student section leader soloists and guest soloist, Amanda Kraupner.
Amanda Kraupner graduated from Valparaiso University with degrees in double bass performance and biology. Over the course of her music career she has studied with Jack Budrow (Michigan State University), Laurence Hurst (Indiana State University), Jason Heath (DePaul University), and Phillip W. Serna (Valparaiso University). Kraupner played in many youth orchestras including Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra, Illinois State honors Orchestra, Interlochen Philharmonic, and National High School Music institute Orchestra. She is currently serving as section leader of the Valparaiso University Symphony Orchestra and substitute section bass at La Porte County Symphony Orchestra in addition to teaching bass at Del Segno Music Studios.
